How to Use the Workspace

Toggle the Side Panel Workspace

Click the pure-black lightning bolt logo pinned to your browser navigation toolbar. The workspace will slide open inside your screen's side panel without taking over your main browser tab.

Configure the Target Duration

Use the horizontal range line to select your execution time parameters. The counter maps intervals directly from 1 single minute up to a maximum of 1,440 minutes (24 hours) for deep isolation sessions.

Lock Down distracting Domains

Click the **Settings** button in the top header. Here, you can review the default blacklist (which auto-blocks Discord, Youtube, and major social networks) or type custom domains into the input field to strip out network access instantly.

Initiate Deep Focus Mode

Return to the main page and click **Begin Focus**. The slider interface transforms into a premium multi-widget analytic dashboard. This displays a monolithic countdown clock, a minimal horizontal timeline bar, an intercepted attempt counter, and your completed session metrics.

Run in the Background Safely

Feel free to click the **X** button to hide the browser side panel. The internal clock and dynamic page-blocking rules stay fully functional in the background. Navigating to any blocked url mid-session instantly drops the page connection and routes you to the safe **Connection Paused** alert screen.

Setup Instructions

Access the Repository

First, open this Google Drive link. Once the directory loads, click the **three dots** icon next to the ActivateStudy folder, select **Download**, and wait for Google Drive to finish preparing and downloading the archive to your computer.

Unzip & Store Permanently

Find the downloaded file package in your local downloads. Right-click it and choose **Extract All** (Windows) or double-click it to extract the folder content (Mac). This will reveal the raw ActivateStudy extension directory.

⚠️ CRITICAL STORAGE REQUIREMENT: Do not leave this unzipped folder in your temporary Downloads location. If the folder is moved, renamed, or accidentally deleted, your extension will immediately break. Store the extracted directory folder inside a permanent hub, like the root of your Windows C: Drive or your main Mac User Directory.

Open Browser Extension Registry

Open a fresh browser tab window in Google Chrome and navigate directly to chrome://extensions using the top address line bar.

Mount the Application

Turn on the Developer mode toggle switch located in the upper right-hand corner of the page. Next, click the Load unpacked button visible in the top left corner, select your permanently saved ActivateStudy root folder, and click open.

Pin to Toolbar for Quick Launch

Look at the top-right corner of Google Chrome and click the **Extensions icon** (looks like a puzzle piece 🧩). Find **Activate Study** in the drop-down list and click the **Pin icon** next to it. The pure-black lightning bolt logo will mount to your screen toolbar. Simply click it anytime to toggle your focus side panel workflow window instantly.
